International Civil Society Organizations Submit Amicus Curiae in Lawsuit Against Bank Mandiri

A total of eight civil society organizations, both national and international, have submitted Amicus Curiae briefs—statements by friends of the court—to the South Jakarta District Court in support of the lawsuit filed by Transformasi untuk Keadilan INDONESIA (TuK INDONESIA) against Bank Mandiri. These organizations include BankTrack, Milieudefensie, RimbaWatch, the Indonesia Center for Environmental Law (ICEL), the Consortium for Agrarian Reform (KPA), the National Executive of WALHI, and the Regional Executive of WALHI Riau. They emphasize the importance of holding financial institutions accountable for funding projects that have harmful impacts on the environment, Indigenous communities, and democratic governance.
